Obama: Still Little Bounce

McCain has his opening. The expected Obama bounce after driving out the Clintons from the race has failed to materialize (in spite of at least two off-the-wall polls showing a double digit lead for Obama, two polls that are eminently and rationally ignorable when you consider all the other polls). Here's the Time poll which matches my own gut intuition about the current state of the race. McCain now has to step in and win it. The path is wide open for him. The former POW now has to summon the same tenacity and audacity that led him to overcome a far, far worse situation earlier in his life. I certainly think he can do it. As recent news from the Supreme Court reminds us, a lot is at stake.
